Heathrow Airport, London Wednesday 5 September	Seattle at last: Coast Gateway Hotel	Steve is a hero: he gave me a lift to the Snoqualmie Pass trailhead on Thursday 6th	The trail starts with a 2,500 foot climb up the side of Kendall Peak
Occasional patches of talus	Entering the Alpine Lakes Wilderness	Up towards Red mountain	On reaching the ridge of Kendall Peak the path levels out: it's only a temporary respite, though!

View back to Interstate 90, where I started: a long way down!	Finally, a corner on the ridge is turned: goodbye to civilisation, all ahead is pure wilderness: Chikamin Peak in the right background, Huckleberry Mountain to the left of it	The start of the infamous Kendall Katwalk: carved on the very crest of the ridge with steep drops either side	Looking back across the rest of the Katwalk, showing the drop below (much easier than it looks!)
