Crossing the North Fork of the Napeequa River, whose valley I ascend	Back down the Napeequa valley from partway up the climb	Mercifully I found the sometimes indistinct path (plenty don't) and arrived at a beautiful grassy alp	Up the valley: I wrongly crossed over to the right-hand side too early, which gave me some grief!
Snow still remaining from the Winter, at about 5,750 feet	Back down the valley, across to Clark Mountain	Entering a rocky area where route finding became quite confusing
East towards Buck Mountain: nearly at High Pass	Unnamed peaks South-East of High Pass	Welcome rest	Glacier Peak over Triad Lake
The rocky and snowy bowl I must traverse to reach easier ground	Back the way I've just come, from near the bottom of the bowl	Glacier Peak in the distance	The path onwards
Helmet Butte with Fortress Mountain beyond	Glacier Peak gathers the evening mists around her like a veil	Back South to jagged ridgelines	Slopes smothered with red huckleberry plants
Liberty Cap: last peak on the ridge before Buck Creek Pass!	Glacier Peak across sunlit meadows		Western ridges
	Flower Dome and Helmet Butte	At last: Buck Creek Pass, camp for the night of Saturday 15 September	Sunday 16 September: the mists rolled in overnight
Packed and ready to go	I turn left for the trail down to Miners Creek	Visibility is very poor, but the trail is easy to follow
Crossing Small Creek	Back into the mist, ascending to Middle Ridge	After descending Middle Ridge I rejoin the original PCT in Miners Creek	Back to lovely trails of forest duff: easy on the feet!
Bridge over Miners Creek: I stop here to make and eat an early dinner, to save time later	Onwards, ready for the ascent to Suiattle Pass, in gradually increasing rain	Camp at the top of Suiattle Pass (the last pass!) on Sunday 16 September in the rain	Monday 17 September, the rain has mostly stopped, time to move on
